Three Brampton men are facing criminal charges after Ontario Provincial Police recovered a stolen vehicle following a failed attempt to flee officers in Caledon.
Officers with the OPP Caledon Detachment responded to a report of suspicious activity at a property on Coleraine Drive at about 10:50 p.m. on Saturday (June 27).
When officers arrived, they spotted a vehicle leaving the property and attempted to stop it. Police say the driver fled before losing control of the vehicle a short distance away.
The driver was arrested at the scene, while two passengers were taken into custody a short distance away.
Police later determined the vehicle had been reported stolen from another jurisdiction.
As a result of the investigation, three Brampton residents have been charged.
Lovepreet Singh, 29, has been charged with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Flight from police
- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
- Operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited
Dilraj Dhillon, 26, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Harjet Dhillon, 29, has also been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
All three accused were held for a bail hearing scheduled for Sunday (June 28) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville.
The OPP did not identify the jurisdiction where the vehicle had originally been reported stolen, and the investigation remains ongoing.
