Stolen vehicle, credit cards and IDs found, Mississauga and Brampton residents charged

Brampton and Mississauga residents face charges after stolen credit cards and identification were found in a stolen vehicle.

Caledon OPP officers spotted a vehicle that had been reported stolen while on patrol in a parking lot in Bolton on March 16 at 5:20 p.m., OPP said in a press release.

There were two people in the vehicle and police immediately blocked it to prevent a chase, OPP said. But as officers were arresting the two people, one fled on foot. That person was quickly located and arrested.

Officers found a large amount of stolen property in the vehicle including pieces of stolen identification, credit cards and break-in instruments, police said.

Two people face charges.

Manpreet Singh Dhillon, 39, of Brampton has been charged with:

  • Fail to Comply with Release Order
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
  • Possession of Stolen Identity Document
  • Possession of Stolen Credit Card
  • Possession of Break-In Instruments
  • Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Possess Automobile Master Key
  • Escape Lawful Custody
  • Flight From Police

Ranbit Singh Toor, 39, of Mississauga has been charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
  • Possession of Stolen Identity Document
  • Possession of Break-In Instruments
  • Possess Automobile Master Key

Caledon residents are reminded not to leave wallets, credit cards or other pieces of banking or identification in their unattended vehicles.
