Stolen car crashes into police cruiser in Mississauga

A car stolen from Mississauga crashed into a police cruiser and flipped over on its side in the thief’s getaway attempt.
The car was stolen near Laird Rd. and The Collegeway in south Mississauga, just over the border from Oakville, at 6:47 p.m on March 22, according to Peel Regional Police.
As the driver tried to flee he struck a police cruiser and managed to flip the stolen car over on its side. The officer was not hurt in the crash and the cruiser received only minor damage.
The driver was taken to a local hospital for assessment. Police have not commented on his condition or provided any identifying information.
The crash had no effect on area traffic, police said.
