Two Mississauga men are facing drug and other charges after OPP pulled over a stolen vehicle Monday morning on Highway 401 near Belleville.

OPP say the traffic stop at about 9 a.m. in the area of Quinte West, located west of Belleville, also led to the recovery of amounts of cocaine, heroin and methamphetamines in addition to unauthorized identity documents.

According to the OPP Quinte West detachment, an officer patrolling the highway pulled over a vehicle that had been reported stolen.

A subsequent search of the car turned up “a quantity of suspected drugs” in addition to the documents, police say.

Jaswinder Jassal, 44, and Singh Prabhjot, 27, both of Mississauga, are each charged with:

  • trafficking in schedule 1 substance — heroin
  • trafficking in schedule 1 substance — cocaine
  • trafficking in schedule 1 substance — methamphetamines
  • possession of property obtained by crime
  • unauthorized possession of credit card
  • unauthorized possession of identity document (six counts)

They were held in custody pending a bail hearing in Belleville court.
