Still no large gatherings allowed in Mississauga, Brampton

Despite declining COVID-19 case counts and the loosening of outdoor recreation rules by the province, there are still regulations limiting large gatherings that residents should follow.
To help keep the community safe this Victoria Day long weekend, bylaw officers from both Mississauga and Brampton will team up with Peel Regional Police officers to help remind residents that large gatherings are not permitted under the current Stay-at-Home order.
Although the Peel Regional Police and city bylaw officers are teaming up to respond to complaints for large gatherings on private and public property, they want to assure residents they will not be conducting random spot checks in parks, playgrounds, trails or stopping vehicles.
Both city bylaw officers and police officers will respond to complaints that come in through various channels, like 311. The priority for all enforcement officers is always to educate and inform residents before seeking compliance.
Heading into this long weekend, Peel residents are encouraged to use virtual options for celebrations with friends and family. Residents are also reminded that bylaw officers and police officers are here to keep the community safe. If you come across them in the community, please keep a safe distance, wear a mask if approaching and offer kindness to them and to all essential service workers.
