UPDATE: Victim upgraded to stable condition after downtown Brampton stabbing

One man has been rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries as police are investigating a stabbing in downtown Brampton.

The altercation happened around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday when police say one person was stabbed in the area of Main Street and Queen Street in Brampton. One male victim was injured and taken to a trauma centre, and police now say his condition has been upgraded to ‘stable.’

No suspect information has been released but investigators say residents can expect to see a large police presence in the area.

Drivers are being asked to avoid the area while police are on the scene.
