A teenager is in critical condition after he was stabbed in Mississauga overnight.
Peel Regional Police said they responded at around 1:50 a.m. Tuesday to reports of a stabbing onboard a transit bus in the area of Hurontario Street and Watline Avenue.
That’s just north of Matheson Boulevard.
Officers located a 17-year-old boy suffering from a stab would.
Police and paramedics provided medical assistance before the teen was taken to a trauma centre.
It was initially reported that he was stable before his condition downgraded.
As of after 7 a.m., he was reported to be in life-threatening condition.
“Investigators subsequently identified and arrested an 18-year-old female,” Peel police said.
She is facing charges of attempted murder, assault with a weapon, and obstructing a peace officer.
She remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
Police said it was an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety.
