Brampton stolen truck police chase

A Brampton man faces a charge of attempted murder from an attack during a trucker protest.

The incident took place on March 25 in Vaughan, according to York Regional Police, who allege a dump truck operator got into a dispute with a protestor about entering a construction site.

Police say during the argument the protestor was stabbed. The victim, a 42-year-old man, was transported to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The Ontario Dump Truck Association (ODTA) said its members were at the construction site to protest against wage and safety rules. The ODTA say the job action has led to intimidation against its members.

Following an investigation police have arrested Carrington Gooden, 33, of Brampton and charged him with attempted murder.
