For one St. Catharines woman, grabbing a lottery ticket while she picks up the groceries is automatically on her food list.

Now Loretta Gravestock can afford the best cut of steak after she matched the last six of seven ENCORE numbers in the exact order in the August 12 LOTTO 6/49 draw to win $100,000.

“I always play LOTTO 6/49 with ENCORE when I get my groceries,” said Gravestock while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings. “This is my first big win!”

A wife and mother, she checked her ticket on the OLG app and discovered her big win.

“My jaw dropped,” she said. “I thought, ‘No way!’ I went to wake up my husband and share the news. He saw my tears of joy and thought something was wrong. When I finally got the words out of my mouth, he was so happy. It’s still not real to me. It feels like a miracle!”

She plans to pay off some bills and put the rest aside for retirement.

“I might treat myself and my husband to a trip,” she concluded.

The winning ticket was purchased at Real Canadian Superstore on Louth Street in St. Catharines.
