Any St. Catharines residents who did not previously have transportation to the election polls today (June 2) does now.

St. Catharines is offering a chauffeured ride in a $350,000 vehicle to anyone who needs it. Most people refer to it – public transit or the St. Catharines bus.

All day today voters simply need to show their voter information card when boarding and they will be issued a day pass for a return trip from your polling station.

Ward 4 Councillor Karrie Porter – or as she has tagged herself on Twitter, Councillor Karrie “ride the bus” Porter – posted, “It’s Election Day in Ontario! If you need a ride to the polls, St Catharines Transit has your back. Just show your voter card to grab a free ride to the polls. Polls are open 9 to 9. St Catharines spans 3 ridings.”

She is absolutely correct when it comes to St. Catharines. While many think of the St. Catharines riding as a catch-all for the entire city, they are slivers of it in both the Niagara Centre and Niagara West ridings to the east and south of the city.
