The Offspring, the legendary California-based band that brought punk back into the mainstream, have a date with St. Catharines.

The band will bring its “Let the bad times roll” tour to the Meridian Centre on November 13.

Montreal’s Simple Plan is set to open the show.

With roots going back as far as 1984, The Offspring burst onto the international scene in 1994 with the album Smash that spawn the hit single Come Out and Play.

The band’s fast-paced rock style harkened back to early punk styles of the 1970s and, along with Green Day and Rancid, brought a California-twist to the music that found a new audience for the genre, one that continues to this day.
