Feeling lucky: Hamilton has its 6th million-dollar lotto winner of 2022
Want to become an instant millionaire? Start buying lotto tickets in Hamilton. The Hammer has been struck by seven figures of luck for the sixth time this year

A 32-year-old St. Catharines man bought a lottery ticket on a whim and just like that, it paid off to the tune of $500,000.

Kyle Turl, who only plays LOTTO MAX, was out walking his dog when he decided to grab a ticket for the October 21 draw.

“I thought, let’s give it a shot and went in the store to grab a ticket,” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings.

“When I scanned my ticket on the OLG App, I thought it said Big Winner $500. I thought, Big Winner for $500? Then I looked again and realized it was for $500,000!” he said.

When Kyle shared the news with his wife, she thought he was pulling her leg.

He plans to pay his mortgage and save for the future. “It feels great!” Kyle concluded.

The winning ticket was purchased at Avondale on Lakeshore Road in St. Catharines.
