St Catharines man charged with multiple child porn/sexual assault offences

Last month, the Niagara Police started an investigation into a St Catharines man that involved both child pornography and sexual exploitation of a child.

With members of their Internet Child Exploitation Unit (I.C.E.) and Child Abuse Unit on the investigation, they found a suspect and on July 28, Craig Christopher Doig, 36, of St. Catharines was charged with uttering threats.

Further investigation lead to more charges yesterday (August 8) and now Doig faces charges of sexual interference, sexual assault, sexual exploitation, exposing his genitals to a person under 16, making child pornography, possession of child pornographyand distribution of child pornography.

Doig has been held in custody pending a bail hearing in St. Catharines this morning (August 9).

Detectives have reason to believe there may be more victims. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Niagara Regional Police Service at 905-688-4111, ext. 1009548.
