Garden City Comedy Festival host-comedian David Green is on stage here at a pre-pandemic show.

After last year’s successful post-pandemic return, the Garden City Comedy Festival is ready to bring some laughs back to St. Catharines in May.

Absent since 2019, festival director David Green was relieved that things finally got back on track in 2022 and it looks like he’s ready to build on that and bring in some raucous fun for four consecutive nights next month, all in downtown St. Catharines.

The festival kicks off at 8 pm on May 24 at Mahtay Café (241 St Paul St) with “Jukebox Jokers,” a musically-themed night of laughs, emceed by Jacob Bergsma, headlined by Badunkafunk and featuring Levi Mann, Rebecca Hardy and Joel Van Vliet.

The scene shifts to the Niagara Artists Centre (354 St Paul St) for Night Two on May 25 at 8 pm for a night “Under The Stars” with Green himself hosting on the rooftop event for headliner Mark Matthews, featuring Adam Wickens, Nik Duncan and Taylor Grant.

Night Three on May 26 at 8 pm could be the most popular of the series as the all-women line-up gathers again at the rooftop patio of Niagara Artists Centre for a Birchway Niagara fundraiser to aid victims of abuse. Hosted by Brie Watson, headliner Crystal Ferrier will share the stage with Amy Sloan, Alicja Mencel and Allie Moore.

Night Four of the festival wraps up on May 27 at 8 pm with its Gala Night at FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre (250 St. Paul St.) emceed by Niagara’s own Joe Pilletteri, headlined by Martha Chaves and featuring Mark Little, Evan Carter, Cathy Boyd and Joze Piranian.
