St. Catharines and Thorold neighbourhoods reporting high COVID-19 positivity

Five areas in Niagara region are among those with the highest COVID-19 percent positivity rates (percentage of positive COVID-19 tests in the area) in Ontario.
Toronto-based research group ICES listed postal code areas in Ontario with the highest percent positivity rates for the week of Oct. 31 to Nov. 6.
Of the top 50 listed, five are in Niagara region:
L2W at 6.67% (St. Catharines)
14th highest positivity in Ontario
L2R at 6.12% (St. Catharines)
20th highest positivity in Ontario
L2M at 5.15% (St. Catharines)
36th highest positivity in Ontario
L0S at 4.66% (Thorold)
44th highest positivity in Ontario
L2N at 4.62% (St. Catharines)
45th highest positivity in Ontario
The same data for the week indicates that Niagara region has the sixth worst COVID-19 positivity out of all Ontario public health units for the third week in a row.
For all Ontario residents, the overall percent positivity among those tested for COVID-19 during the week of Oct. 31 was 1.9%, up 0.3% from the previous week, according to Toronto-based research group ICES.
One-dose vaccine coverage rose to 85% by the end of October, and 82% of residents 12+ are fully vaccinated.
