If you’re looking for a place to cool off on one of the sunnier days this upcoming long weekend, you might be happy to hear that Hamilton’s spray pads will be opening for the summer season this weekend (May 20 – 22).

According to the City, spray pads are unsupervised water play areas found in many Hamilton parks and playgrounds.

They include a number of fun features, such as upright spray features and ground spray jets.

The pads are free to use, and parents and caregivers are reminded to supervise their children at all times.

Some pads can be found in the following areas:

  • Waterdown Memorial Park
  • Dundas Driving Park
  • Village Green Park
  • William Connell Park
  • Gord Oaks (Mount Hope)
  • Gage Park
  • Winona Park
  • Binbrook Fairground Community Park
  • Pier 4 Park
  • Heritage Green

The pads typically operate from 10 am to 8 pm all summer long. The aforementioned pads open at 9 am during heat waves and stay on until 9 pm.
