Sports equipment, face cream, chili sauce, and macadamia nuts all recalled from Ontario stores

Another week and another list of items being recalled from Ontario stores.

This week residents are advised to check their homes for the following products that may cause fall hazards and severe immune and respiratory issues.

Wild Country Superlight Rocks Cable

Wild Country Superlight Rocks Size 1 to 6

The Wild Country Superlight Rocks single cable wire chocks used for climbing are being recalled. The products were sold in six different sizes and colors and as a set.

When the single cable is exposed to seaside conditions with high concentrations of salt, corrosion inside of the ferrule can take place and can reduce the breaking strength of the chocks.

The company reported that 225 units of the affected product were sold in Canada.

The affected products were sold from January 2017 to February 2023.

Risks: Poses a fall hazard.

What you should do: Immediately stop using the product and contact the company for a replacement.

As of June 18, 2023, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada


WATIER Age Control Supreme Sublime Advanced Day Cream

The creams are sold in a cylindrical printed glass jar, containing 50 ml of product. The glass jar comes inside a secondary cardboard packaging.

The UPC codes for the cream 058655630639 and 0863063DL. They can be found under the secondary packaging.

The lots affected by the recall are:

  • (L)22K1936
  • (L)22G1935
  • (L)22K1935

The company reported that 3138 units and 1559 affected samples were sold or distributed in Canada.

The creams were sold from March, 2023 to July, 2023.

According to Health Canada, the product does not meet microbial standards and may contain a microorganism called Streptococcus mutans.

Risks: Poses health hazard.

What you should do: Discontinue using the recalled product and contact Groupe Marcelle Inc. for a refund.

As of July 13, 2023, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.


Delusional Sauce Co. brand Chili Garlic Confit

Delusional Sauce Co. - Chili Garlic Confit - 240 mL - Label

The chili garlic sauce are sold in the size 240ml with the UPC 6 28942 39210 8 are affected by the recall.

All the units sold up to and including July 18, 2023 are impacted.

The item is being recalled from the marketplace because it may harbour the growth of Clostridium botulinum. 

Food  that has been contaminated with this toxin may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick.

Risks: Health hazards including difficulty swallowing, slurred speech, generalized weakness and paralysis.

What you should do: Contact a healthcare professional if you think you have fallen sick after consuming the recalled product. The recalled items should then be thrown out or returned to the place where they were purchased from.

As of today July 23, 2023, there have been no reported illnesses with the consumption of the product.


Dan-D Pak brand Raw Macadamia Nuts

Dan-D Pak - Raw Macadamia Nuts - 100 g - Front

The macadamia nuts are sold in a 100 g pack with the UPC 7 70795 52260 4.

The product is being recalled due to possible Salmonella contamination.

Food contaminated with Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Some symptoms include: fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea.

Risks: Health hazard for individuals with weakened immune systems.

What you should do: Contact a healthcare professional if you think you have fallen sick after consuming the recalled product. The recalled items should then be thrown out or returned to the place where they were purchased from.
