Speeding motorcyclist charged after tracked down in Burlington by OPP officer in the sky

A motorcyclist who was speeding on Highway 403 through Brant County and fled from police has been charged after being located by Burlington OPP with some help from aviation services.
West Region OPP say officers were conducting speed enforcement on Highway 403 on Monday (July 25) with the OPP’s Aviation services when an officer in the sky identified multiple vehicles “travelling erratically and aggressively.”
“Including a motorcycle that failed to stop for police when directed,” said West Region OPP in a released video to Twitter showing the incident.
Using support from their aviation service officers in the sky, police were able to able to follow that motorcycle rider as they exited the highway and stopped and parked their vehicle in a Burlington location near the intersection of Harvester Rd and Laurentian Dr.
“(Burlington OPP) officers were directed to were directed to that location and I can tell you the rider is now facing charges,” the OPP said in the video.
The motorcyclist has been charged with flight from police, dangerous operation, stunt driving and obstruct pate.

“This resulted in an automatic 30-day licence suspension, 14-day vehicle impound in addition to sanctions upon conviction,” added the OPP.

OPP said the same enforcement is carried on highways at night and they will continue in an effort to keep the roads as safe as possible.
“We expect riders and drivers, who are on these roads, to understand the consequences for dangerous and erratic driving,” said the OPP. “It can result in a crash, a fatality and we will hold them accountable to the law. So please share the road safely, share the road responsibly.
“Anyone that wants to enjoy the thrills of high-risk driving needs to take it off the roads and on to a track. Some place that is more safe and sanctioned and legal. Please, share the road safely, obey the rules of the road so we can all get to our destinations alive.”
