Speeding Burlington driver flees police, nabbed the next day

Halton police tow away vehicle after driver arrested.

A driver who tried to escape police is facing several charges.

Halton police say they first spotted the driver speeding on Plains Road around 6 p.m. yesterday (July 8).

When officers tried to pull over the vehicle the driver took off.

As it turned out, police knew who they were looking for.

“The driver made a bad choice and fled from police endangering the community and themselves,” Halton police said in a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter).

Today, police arrested a person and filed several charges.

They include:

  • flight from police
  • dangerous driving
  • stunt driving

The vehicle was also impounded.

Police have not released the identity of the person charged.
