A special weather statement has been issued for Hamilton where significant rainfall is expected throughout the day Monday (Oct. 25).

According to Environment Canada, an additional 15 to 30 mm is expected Monday with total rainfall amounts of 30 to 50 mm by the time rain tapers off to showers early in the evening.

“Localized flooding in low lying areas is possible,” the weather agency said in the statement.

This rainfall is due to a low-pressure system that is forecast to track northeast across southern Ontario.
