A special weather statement has been issued for Hamilton as even more windy weather is expected to pass through the area on Thursday (April 21).

According to Environment Canada, southerly or southwesterly winds gusting up to 80 km/h are expected to develop ahead of a cold front Thursday morning.

The strong winds are expected to weaken Thursday afternoon or evening, as winds shift to westerly.

The weather agency warns that the wind will be strong enough to toss loose objects around and break tree branches. Power outages are also a possibility.
