Special weather statement in Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton and Halton

A special weather statement has been issued for Mississauga, Brampton, Halton, Hamilton and much of southern Ontario.
After a hot and smokey start to June, wet and rainy weather is finally here but it seems to be coming all at once.
Heavy rain is expected today (June 12) continuing this morning and ending in the afternoon, according to a special weather statement from Environment Canada.
About 30 to 50 millimetres of rain could fall with higher amounts possible in some areas.
The heaviest rainfall is expected later this morning. But there still remains some uncertainty with rainfall amounts and the exact track of the low.
Environment Canada may upgrade the rainfall warning later today.

The rain is expected to continue this week but sunny days are also in the forecast for Wednesday and Friday and the weekend.
