Special weather statement for Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton and Halton

A special weather statement has been issued for Mississauga, Brampton, Halton, Hamilton and much of southern Ontario.

Environment Canada issued a warning of heavy rain which is expected today (July 15).

These showers and thunderstorms will begin in the afternoon and continue through the evening before subsiding later in the night.

Meteorologists predict the accumulation of 30-50 mm of rain with the possibility of greater amounts depending on the area.

Wind gusts up to 90 km/h, are anticipated.

Some regions may even see hail of up to 3 cm in size.

Residents concerned of possible flooding, are asked to consult their local Conservation Authority or Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry office for more information.
