There is a new player in town when it comes to offering international food choices.
Desi Mandi has opened in Oakville, and with that comes an influx of flavours from a variety of locations with a focus on South Asian specialties.
“The opening addresses the increasing demand for culturally diverse grocery options in Oakville, reducing the need for residents to travel to neighbouring cities for authentic products,” say the operators of the store that is located at 579 Kerr Street.
The store offers an extensive selection of fresh produce, spices, rice, lentils, snacks, frozen foods, and specialty ingredients sourced from India, Pakistan, and across South Asia.
Customers will find fresh Indian vegetables delivered weekly, ready‑to‑cook and frozen South Asian meals, and popular snacks and sweets from India and Pakistan.
The new location expands Desi Mandi’s growing footprint across Ontario and brings a wide range of South Asian food essentials closer to the Halton community. Stores have already opened in Burlington and Hamilton.
“We’re excited to bring Desi Mandi to Oakville and become part of the Kerr Village community,” the company shared. “Our goal is to provide convenient access to high‑quality South Asian groceries for families across the region.”
To celebrate the opening, Desi Mandi will offer special promotions, giveaways, and exclusive discounts until the end of March.
