Someone in Canada has won a big lottery jackpot last night

One lottery player in Canada is waking up significantly richer after matching all six numbers in the latest Lotto 6/49 Classic Draw and winning the $5 million jackpot.

According to lottery results released following Saturday night’s draw, a single ticket matched all six winning numbers to claim the top prize of $5,000,000.

The draw also created two second-prize winners. Two tickets matched five numbers plus the bonus number, with each winner taking home $89,623.20.

Another 50 tickets matched five of the six winning numbers, earning $1,505.30 each.

Thousands of additional players also walked away with prizes, including:

• 3,728 winners of $81.30 for matching four numbers
• 72,797 winners of $10 for matching three numbers
• 55,888 winners of $5 for matching two numbers plus the bonus number
• 507,053 Free Play winners for matching two numbers

In the Lotto 6/49 Gold Ball Draw, one lucky ticket holder also struck gold, winning the $1 million prize after matching the winning Gold Ball number 62263972-08.

The Encore draw did not produce a grand-prize winner, as no ticket matched all seven digits of the winning number 9153789. However, two players matched the last six digits and will each receive $100,000.

Lottery officials have not yet announced where the $5 million jackpot-winning ticket or the $1 million Gold Ball-winning ticket was sold.

The next Lotto 6/49 draw will give players another chance to chase a life-changing jackpot and Gold Ball prize.
