Some LCBO Locations in Mississauga Offering Extended Hours

If you want to stock up on booze before Canada Day, you might have more time to do so thanks to extended hours at select LCBO locations in Mississauga.

The LCBO recently announced that it’s extending hours in select stores across the province from Thursday, June 22 to Sunday, June 25. Some stores will also be open later on Sunday, July 2 to accommodate Canada Day shopping.

As you no doubt know, the OPSEU and Liquor Board Employees Division (LBED) have been challenging the LCBO and the province on what they believe to be unfair working conditions (lack of guaranteed hours, over-reliance on part-time workers, too many back-to-back working days and “creeping privatization” related to the roll out of beer, wine and cider in grocery stores, etc.).

The union will be in legal strike position as of 12:01 a.m. on Monday, June 26.

Since a strike is possible, some LCBO locations might open as early as 9:00 a.m. and close at 11:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, June 25, some stores will open at 11:00 a.m. and close at 6:00 p.m.

All LCBO stores will be closed on Saturday, July 1 and open on Monday, July 3.
