Ontario, Mississauga, weather, forecast, cloudy,

Travellers flying out of Pearson Airport in Mississauga today might want to check the status of their flights ahead of time as some delays are possible due to nasty winter weather in other parts of Canada.

Pearson officials said via social media on Tuesday morning that while the weather in Mississauga and across the GTA is just fine, that’s not the case elsewhere.

“From freezing fog in the Prairies to snow cleanup in the Maritimes, Mother Nature is bringing us an assortment of weather across Canada,” they said in a post to X (formerly Twitter). “With 450 total scheduled departures and 459 total scheduled arrivals today, we may see some delays due to the weather in other parts of the country. If you’re travelling to Toronto, you’ll want to pack your sunglasses as the sunshine has returned to Toronto.”

Meanwhile, officials at Halifax Stanfield International Airport say while the worst of the record-setting winter storm in that part of the country has passed, they’re still digging out.

“Although we are still experiencing the impact of the storm, airport operations at Halifax Stanfield are continuing to ramp up,” they said late Monday.

Pearson officials said things are on schedule, so far, for the 15 flights departing to Halifax on Tuesday.
