Soda, shrimp, cashews recalled due to health risks in Mississauga and Brampton

Multiple products have been recalled from stores in Ontario this week (Jan. 31 to Feb. 6) due to potential health and safety risks, including stores in Mississauga and Brampton.

Residents are advised to check if they have these products at home and avoid using or consuming them out of caution.

The following products are affected:


Various Two Bears brand Oat Milk Products

Two Bears Black Coffee Frothed Latte French Front

Risk: The products contain milk which is not listed on the label.

What you should do: Residents with a dairy allergy or lactose intolerance should check if the product can be returned to the store it was purchased from.


JLF Foods Ltd. brand frozen white shrimp

Risk: The product may contain nitrofurans (typically used as antibiotics or antimicrobials).

What you should do: Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased. If you think you became sick from eating a recalled product, contact your doctor.


President’s Choice brand Roasted Cashews with Sea Salt

Risk: The product is being recalled due to having an off odour and off taste.

What you should do: Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.


PC brand Lemon & Ginger Sicilian Soda

Risk: Possible presence of glass.

What you should do: Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased. If you think you became sick from eating a recalled product, contact your doctor.

Risk: The recalled products do not meet the labelling requirements for consumer chemical container products sold with the intention of being filled with a hazardous chemical product. As a result, it could contribute to a flame jetting incident and lead to serious illness, injury or death. As of January 26, 2022, the company had received 1 report of major burns caused by flame jetting.

What you should do: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product.


Joe Boxer Children’s Fleece Robe

Risk: The products do not meet the flammability requirements for children’s sleepwear and may pose a burn hazard.

What you should do: Consumers should immediately stop using the Children’s Fleece Robe and discard, or return to Joe Boxer for a full refund.


Harbor Breeze Belleisle Bay 52-inch Ceiling Fan

Risk: The ceiling fan blades can detach during use, posing an impact injury hazard to consumers.

What you should do: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled fans and contact Hong Kong China Electric Appliance Manufacture Company (HKC) for instruction on how to receive a replacement.
