A 74-year-old Hamilton man became an instant millionaire after winning the $1 million prize in the June 25, Lotto 6/49 draw.

The married father of one says he plans to buy himself a new wheelchair and purchase a home for his daughter.

“My wife and I are very simple – we just want to live an easy, happy life,” said Paul Ferguson. “We’re going to share this with our daughter – we want to purchase a house for her and enjoy seeing her live a happy life.”

Ferguson says he was “so excited” that he couldn’t sleep after scanning his ticket using the OLG mobile app and hearing the winning jingle.

The winning ticket was purchased in Binbrook at the Shoppers Drug Mart on Binbrook St.
