A winter weather travel advisory is in effect for Saturday in Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton and much of Southern Ontario.

Environment Canada says that snow is forecast to begin early Saturday morning (Dec. 18) over southwestern Ontario. The snow will then spread quickly eastward into the Greater Toronto Area and portions of eastern Ontario through the day.

Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. Accumulating snow on untreated roadways will affect travel and motorists are advised to exercise caution. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.

Total snowfall accumulations of five to 10 centimetres can be expected by the time the snow tapers off from west to east on Saturday evening.

Road and travel updates on all provincial highways are available through the Ontario Ministry of Transportation on Twitter (@511Ontario) or at 511on.ca.
