It could get frosty in Burlington with rain and snow expected overnight on Thursday and into the weekend.

The Weather Network says rain on Thursday evening could turn into snow flurries overnight as temperatures drop from 5 degrees Celsius down to -1.

Those flurries could continue into Friday morning, with more snowfall again on Saturday and Sunday. Drivers should prepare for wet and possibly slippery conditions.

Thankfully the white stuff isn’t expected to stick around, as the Weather Network is predicting any snowfall over the next few days will be less than 2 cm.

Colder temperatures are predicted to carry through the weekend, dropping down to -5 on Friday night before climbing back up to 0 degrees on Saturday.

The flurries could return on Saturday and carry into Sunday, and snow is expected in parts of northeastern and across the GTA heading into the weekend.

The Weather Network rated the wind and snow fall risk as yellow says Burlington residents should “be aware.”

When city facilities are closed due to weather, residents can stay informed by subscribing to facility closure updates, or by checking the website.
