Canadian comedian Carolyn Taylor has taken her obsession with figure skating from comedy club stages to the small screen with a comedy documentary, with the grand finale filmed in Brampton.

The six-part series called “I Have Nothing” premiered on Crave back in September and follows Taylor as she turns a dream into reality by choreographing an ice dance with exactly zero experience.

Taylor, who is best known as one of the cast on CBC’s Baroness Von Sketch Show, first became enamoured with figure skating as a teenager watching the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary.

Fast forward years later, Taylor was driving when she heard the Whitney Houston song “I Have Nothing” on the radio and thought, “if I were to choreograph a full-length pairs figure skating routine, that would be the perfect song,” she said in a release.

The imaginary choreography became a part of Taylor’s stand-up act, performing the routine on-stage with jumps while mimicking the graceful moves of professional skaters.

But Taylor has taken her dream one step further for the streaming series, which features a who’s who of figure skating icons like Kurt Browning, Kristi Yamaguchi, David Pelletier and Elizabeth Manley – one of the skaters at the ‘88 Olympics.

Brampton’s CAA Centre hosted the series finale, with skaters showcasing Taylor’s choreography to a packed crowd.

You can see Taylor take on her dream and the CAA Centre in all its figure skating glory on “I Have Nothing,” streaming now on Crave.
