Six new COVID-19 cases in Durham Tuesday – two each from Ajax and Whitby

Six new cases of the COVID-19 virus were reported in Durham Region yesterday, including two each in Ajax and Pickering.
Active cases in the region have dropped to 72 and local hospitals remain virus-free.
Four municipalities reported no new COVID cases – including Oshawa – with the Township of Uxbridge enjoying that status for the sixth straight day.
There remain 17 students at Durham schools self-isolating at home but only one school – Ormiston Public School in Whitby – is reporting more than one student with COVID-19.
The vaccination rate among Durham’s 12-plus population took a small step forward to 82.5 per cent.
