SIU probes 19-year-old man’s death in Niagara Falls

The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of a teen who jumped over the barrier into the Niagara Gorge last night.

On Saturday (Sept. 9) at approximately 7 p.m., Niagara Parks Police officers were looking for a man in distress.

Officers located the 19-year-old man in the area of River Rd. and Hiram St.

According to the SIU, the man leaped the barrier and fell into the Niagara Gorge.

Subsequently, police found the man deceased.

As the investigation unfolds, one subject official and three witness officials have been designated, with a team of three investigators and two forensic investigators assigned to the case.
