At the Committee of the Whole Council Meeting in Lincoln last night (July 5), a historic building long since gone was put up for historical recognition.

Matt Bruder, Lincoln’s Manager of Planning and Development, told Council that the present owner of 2818 Prince William Street, the site of the former Jordan Train Station, had requested a historical interpretive plaque be installed at his property.

Gary Dandridge, a member of the Lincoln Municipal Heritage Committee, offered to draft the wording to be used on the plaque.

The motion passed without debate with staff instructed to create the design of the plaque, which is estimated to cost $1,500.
