Single-vehicle rollover results in one death in Niagara-on-the-Lake

Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) attend the scene of a fatal, single-vehicle rollover collision that occurred last night (July 9) in the town of Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Officers of 2 District responded to a section of York Rd. between Concession 1 Rd. and Concession 2 Rd. shortly after 10:30 p.m. and located a single vehicle collision upon arrival.
The vehicle appeared to have rolled over and an adult female was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Members of the Niagara-on-the-Lake Fire Department removed an adult male from the vehicle who was then taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The man remains in hospital in serious condition at this time.
Police say the identities of the two occupants of the vehicle will not be released.

The section of York Rd. is closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic as members of the Collision Reconstruction Unit and Forensic Services Unit continue to investigate the incident.
Police say the road closure can be expected for the next several hours as detectives complete their investigation.
