Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Wednesday calling for 10-15 cm of snow for the entire region, from Brock Township in the north to Oshawa and the other communities along Lake Ontario in the south.

A “significant” snowfall is in the forecast, beginning Wednesday evening and continuing into Thursday with as much as 20 cm of snow expected in certain areas of the region.

Environment Canada is putting the blame on a Texas Low and is reporting that drivers can expect reduced visibility on the roads with rapidly accumulating snow making travel difficult.
