Motorists face delays starting next week because a major street in Hamilton will be getting some sidewalk work done.

The City of Hamilton said there will be lane restrictions on Upper James Street between Mohawk Road and Lincoln M. Alexander Parkway (northbound and southbound). They will take effect from July 17 until July 24 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. because the sidewalk will be replaced.

Roadwork or closures are happening in other areas of the city.

Locke Street between Hunter Street and Herkimer Street will be closed on Sunday, July 16 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for a street festival.

There will be lane restrictions in the east end on Parkdale Avenue South between King Street East and Queenston Road until July 21 from 7 a,m. to 3 p.m. for a sidewalk replacement.
