The Brampton Chrysler Assembly Plant is shutting down for the rest of the month because of a parts shortage.
This means for the next three weeks approximately 3,000 will be on temporary layoff as the company deals with the global shortage of microchips used in the manufacturing of vehicles.
The plant, located at 2000 Williams Pkwy, currently builds the Dodge Charger, Dodge Challenger and the Chrysler 300.
A spokesperson for Fiat Chrysler said the idling of the plant will minimizing the impact of the parts shortage while ensuring production will continue at other North American plants.
