A show with acrobats and musicians is set to hit the Living Arts Centre (LAC) in Mississauga next month.

The show, called Cirque Kalabante – Afrique en Cirque, symbolizes the strength, agility and joy of life found in African youth and will be coming to the LAC on Feb. 23.

The show will feature acrobats accompanied by their musicians, who will perform to the rhythm of the djembes of Guinea along with their authentic and original choreography and acrobatics.

Through the show, creator Yamoussa Bangoura aims to transport the audience to “a place where the diversity of traditional African arts are illuminated, and combined with the virtuosity of a modern North American Circus performance.”

Kalabanté Productions, which hosts the show, was created in 2007 by Bangoura, the multidisciplinary artist of Guinean origin, who always dreamt of founding a circus school as well as having his own multidisciplinary company in African arts.

The non-profit organization welcomes and supports all amateur Canadian talent including visible minorities who want to increase their knowledge and take their training to a higher level.

The upcoming show in Mississauga will take place from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and is suitable for all ages.

Tickets are on sale now and start at $35.
