Shots fired in Oshawa – one man taken to hospital with serious injuries

A shooting in Oshawa, just east of downtown, has sent one man to a trauma centre with serious injuries.

Durham Police responded to reports of shots fired in the Ritson Road and Bond Street area around lunchtime Thursday.

The victim was found suffering from a gunshot wound and taken to hospital. The roadway was closed for several hours while police investigated.

Durham Police are asking people to avoid the area.
