The U.S. Consulate General in downtown Toronto was hit by gunfire early Tuesday morning.
Police responded to reports that someone discharged a firearm at the Consulate, at University Avenue and Queen Street, just before 5:30 a.m., Toronto Police said.
Police said there is evidence of a firearm discharge.
There are no reports of injuries, police added.
Southbound University Avenue from Armoury Street was closed as of 7 a.m.
Police do not have suspect information at this time.
