A Mississauga man faces charges after an industrial yard in Vaughan and a number of vehicles on the property were shot at last year.
York Regional Police say officers responded to a weapons call at the industrial yard, near highways 27 and 407, last June 1 after reports that numerous shots were fired on the premises.
“The complainant arrived at work and found the windows of the main door shattered. Multiple vehicles within the lot also appeared to have been struck by bullets,” police said in a news release on Monday.
Investigators added that security video at the business showed a male entering on foot and “discharging a firearm toward the front doors. As the male flees, he fires multiple times at the parked vehicles within the lot. Fortunately, there were no injuries as the premises and vehicles were unoccupied at the time.”
Following what police describe as a lengthy investigation, an arrest was made on Friday.
Brandon Morgan, 29, of Mississauga, is charged with reckless discharge of a firearm, mischief to property over $5,000 and possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order.
The investigation is ongoing and police urge anyone with information to call investigators at 1-866-876-5423, ext. 6471, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
