With Earth Day just around the corner, Conservation Halton has teamed up with the local business community to to help create awareness and raise funds for its greenspace initiatives.

Between April 16 and 22, participating retailers in Milton, Oakville and Burlington will be donating a portion of their sales to Conservation Halton’s Connected fundraising campaign.

Businesses taking part in the 2024 Earth Day fundraiser, coined Good Nature, currently include:

  • Backed by Bees
  • Bergsma’s Paint and Decor
  • Boa Boutique
  • Bodhi Bar
  • Flow State Bike Co.
  • Hygge Studio
  • Oakville Trailers and Auto Repair
  • Paintech Ltd.
  • Seren Hair Studio
  • Super Churros – Luri’s Bakery Corp.

The inaugural version of Good Nature invites shoppers to support local businesses and put their purchasing power behind participating brands. It also encourages community members to learn more about Conservation Halton’s greenspaces.

“Last April, we announced our capital campaign, Connected,” said Garner Beckett, executive director of the Conservation Halton Foundation.

“It was the largest fundraising effort in our foundation’s history, and the announcement couldn’t have been timelier. Our region is under major growth pressures. We need to work together to invest in our greenspaces today to bring about a healthier and more resilient future.”

To date, the foundation’s capital campaign has raised more than $14 million for Conservation Halton’s parks and environmental programs, thanks to the support of corporate partners, government funds, and community donors.

“Our goal of raising $20 million by the end of 2025 is achievable when we have this incredible community rallying around us and getting involved to help us steward vitally important greenspaces in our region,” said Beckett.

Residents are encouraged to learn about the foundation’s Connected capital campaign and to check out the brands that are donating a portion of sales between April 16 and 22 at Conservation Halton’s website.

Businesses can continue to sign up for Good Nature until April 22.
