Around 3 a.m. on Sunday, July 24, officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area of Eglinton Avenue East and Dixie Road.

No injuries were reported in relation to the shooting.

“A vehicle was seen fleeing the scene, striking an unmarked police vehicle and a second vehicle as it fled,” said police.

Officers caught the vehicle eastbound on Highway 403 from Eastgate Parkway, arresting three men and seizing two loaded firearms.

21 year old Milton man Kieron Yearwood is charged with:

  • Flight from peace officer
  • Failure to stop after accident (2 counts)
  • Fail to comply with release order
  • Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm (2 Counts)

  • Possession of firearm, contrary to order

29 year old Mississauga man Jordane Deshan Mootoosamy is also charged with two counts of being an occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm.

All three men were held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Sunday, July 24.

However, police say further investigation has revealed that the accused males were not involved in the shooting at the nightclub.

“The suspects of the shooting are still outstanding,” said police.

No suspect description has been released at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
