A man has died after a shooting at a Burlington mall on Monday night.
Emergency crews responded to Burlington Centre Mall, 777 Guelph Line, for a report of a shooting at approximately 10:10 p.m., Halton Regional Police said on X today.
A man in his early 20s was transported to hospital, but he succumbed to his injury and was pronounced dead, police said.
Police later identified the man as Omer Niaz Muhammad, 24, of Burlington.
Investigators believe this was a targeted incident with no known risk to public safety, police said.
Police said there have been no arrests, and they are searching for two suspects who fled in a white SUV.
Anyone who may have security or dash cam footage of Guelph Line, Prospect Street and Fairview Street around the time of the shooting is asked to contact police.
