brampton shooting Shooting leaves man with life-threatening wounds

Emergency crews rushed a man to hospital in critical condition following a shooting in Brampton on Sunday.

Peel Regional Police say they responded to the shooting around 5:10 p.m. in the area of Drinkwater Road and Queen Street in Brampton.

Few details were available at the time of the incident but police said first responders found an injured male at the scene.

The victim was later rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said in an update.

Police have not said if any arrests have been made and have not released any suspect information.

It was a busy weekend for fire-arms related calls for Peel police with two people charged on Friday after a random police check in Brampton led to the discovery of a loaded handgun, and a Toronto man arrested on Saturday after police found a pistol during a traffic stop.
