Shooting in east-end Hamilton; police seeking witnesses

A man in east-end Hamilton, who is not yet identified, shot a gun at two men who stepped in while he was assaulting a female.

Hamilton Police say they are asking for help in locating the suspect after the shooting on Kinrade Ave. near Barton St., which was reported to them around 10:45 a.m. on Thursday (Sept. 1). The responding officers learned two witnesses had intervened when they saw a male assaulting a female.

“The suspect then drew a hand gun and fired a shot at the two males,” Hamilton Police stated in a release on Thursday. “During the interaction, the female entered a vehicle and left the area. The suspect proceeded to flee eastbound on Barton Street.”

The suspect is described as a white man in his mid-30s who is about five-foot-nine. He was wearing a black T-shirt, blue shorts, black baseball cap and a gold chain.
