Man rushed to hospital in life-threatening condition after Caledon shooting

A man in his 20s is in life-threatening condition after a shooting in Caledon this morning (May 3).

The OPP says officers from the Caledon detachment were called to a home on Hayleyvale Rd. in Caledon Village around 3:00 a.m. on Wednesday.

When officers arrived on the scene they found one person at the residence had been shot, police said.

A spokesperson for Peel Paramedics confirmed that a male in his 20s was transported from the scene to the Headwaters Health Care Centre in life-threatening condition.

The Caledon OPP Major Crime Unit has been called in to investigate the incident. And while police say the investigation is still in the early stages, investigators say there is no threat to public safety.

Investigators are asking the public for dash camera or home surveillance video footage or photos from the area around 3:00 a.m., including on Hurontario St. in Caledon Village.
