Shiver me timbers! Pirate theatre cruise sails to Hamilton

You won’t have to sail the high seas to find adventure in the city — namely, one involving pirates and hidden treasures.
If you visit Hamilton’s Bayfront Park, you can hop aboard a pirate ship offering both a cruise and theatre.
Toronto-based Pirate Life Theatre is welcoming guests for its first family friendly, interactive shows in Hamilton. The onshore activities are 30 minutes and the cruise is an hour. Visitors can join the pirate crew, get a pirate nick name, play games and get face paint tattoos. They can also hunt for treasure, watch a playful sword fight and fire water cannons.
Produced by the charity Art & Water Cultural group, the show runs weekends for the months of June, September and October. During July and August, it’s open every day except Monday. First check-in before departure is at 9:30 a.m., and the last one is at 3:45 p.m.
Tickets are $27, $33 or $37. The children’s theatre company encourages people to support the arts and pay the highest rate they can afford. A season pass is $59.
Visitors can bring their own costumes, or purchase a package including an eye patch, bandana, hat and sword.
